IAN WEST – Director

Ian has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry during which time he has worked as a Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager for a range of companies including French Kier and Barratt. Projects included refits at the Dorchester and Claridges hotels, the Wellington Hospital and a number of office and residential schemes.

Since 1993 Ian’s focus has been on retail fit out projects for blue chip retailers and in 2005 he set up WB Projects Ltd with the objective of focussing on Quality, Safety, Value, Collaboration and Sustainability.

DARREN TAYLOR – Senior Project Manager

Qualified in Civil Engineering, CDM management and Health & Safety Darren has over 10 years’ experience in the project management of fit out projects in retail, office and warehousing schemes.

Darren’s track record includes the successful delivery of complex, large scale store refurbishments for M&S at Merry Hill, Birmingham, Newbury, Lewisham and Chelmsford which have required effective management of a diverse team, attention to detail and full collaboration with the client.

TOM MURPHY – Senior Project Manager

During his 15 years in construction Tom has managed a variety of projects ranging from £1m to £10m. In addition to being a member of the CIOB and having a number of site management qualifications he is NEBOSH qualified.

Tom’s has successfully delivered a number of major projects for M&S including Tamworth extension and Witney new store as well as several new Food stores. Tom was also involved with store developments for JLP at Reading and House of Fraser Bristol as well as a the GIVe roll out of 6 new stores nationally.

SIMON BREWSTER – Senior Commercial Manager

Simon has over 35 years’ experience in the construction industry including almost 20 years with Bovis Lend Lease. Prior to specialising in retail over the last 15 years Simon worked on residential, health care, logistics facilities and airport construction.

Over the last 5 years Simon has provided the WB commercial function on retail projects for Marks and Spencer which have been valued at up to £10m and have included major schemes at Tamworth, Witney, Staines, Chelmsford and currently Chichester.

ANTHEA McDERMOTT – Trainee QS and Environmental/Sustainability Manager

Anthea has gained honours degrees in Property Planning and Development and also in Auctioneering, Valuation and Estate Agency, and she is in her final year of a degree course in Construction, Commercial Management.

In addition to her work as a QS, Anthea has contributed substantially to the “green agenda” at WB by working to achieve ISO 14001, FSC® certification, delivering efficient waste management and recycling whilst implementing SMARTWaste on all sites.

Anthea has been involved in a range of store projects at M&S including Marble Arch flagship, Witney new store and refurbishments at Cheltenham, and Weymouth; she also managed the innovative solar energy project at Muswell Hill.
