WB Projects News2010 was another busy and challenging year with highlights being the successful completion of two complex projects at Cheltenham and Chelmsford for M&S and the details are now on our Projects Page. In spring 2011 we completed the modernisation of the Marks and Spencer store in Walsall. This was a limited scope project completed in 10 weeks and another project delivered "snag free". We continue to work hard to broaden our client base and are delighted to be able to announce that we have secured work with a new client, Creasey's of Guernsey, to fit out and refurbish their M&S franchise store. In May 2011 we became corporate members of the Association of Project Management. We continually seek ways to develop and improve and the Association provides valuable insights that will help us keep up to date with developments and trends in project Management and give us access to a professional training and development provision. At the start of 2011, we also became part of the SAFEcontractor scheme. SAFEcontractor is the fastest growing health and safety accreditation scheme in the UK, with more than 150 major clients and almost 18,000 contractor members. Registered members with the SAFEcontractor scheme include clients and contractors from a wide range of professional disciplines working within different industries. With its increasing membership and growing profile in the UK, the SAFEcontractor scheme is now used by many organisations as a way of obtaining competent contractors. In December Ian West became a member of the Worshipful Company of Constructors and Anthea McDermott is now in the final year of her studies for her third degree ‐ in Construction Commercial Management. Our Green Agenda Environmental and Sustainable issues remain high on our agenda and it is an area in which we have continued to invest in training and development. We were also pleased to be involved in an innovative environmental project at Muswell Hill, details of which are shown on our projects page. As part of the monitoring process of the CO2 emissions and ensure compliance with ISO 14001 we engaged TRUCOST to assess the emission levels and benchmark our results against the sector and their comprehensive data base, providing us with the assurance that we were performing well. |
